My parents and I had lunch here and it was really good. We didn't try any of their specialty dishes with lobster in them, so I imagine those would be even better.

We started with some shrimp spring rolls ($5 for 2 rolls). They were cut in half, and I had half of a spring roll. They were chock full of shrimp with a bit of vermicelli. They were crispy and very delicious. The wrapper was the usual wheat-based wrapper though, not the rice paper wrapper which I prefer, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I had the Special A1 under the Specialties Section. It was BBQ pork, shrimp, and sate beef rice noodle soup. It only comes in medium and is $11.50. My parents both had the Special Pho. My mom had the small for $10 and my dad has the large for $13. The special pho had rare beef, well done beef, beef brisket, beef meatballs, and chicken.

I really enjoyed my noodle soup. It had 2 large shrimp, and lots of BBQ pork pieces and pieces of sate beef. My only complaint is that some pieces of BBQ pork were too fatty for my tastes, although nowhere near as fatty as at some other places. I personally like only lean meats, so I would have been happier if the pork was leaner. Fortunately, the beef was lean. No fatty or gristley pieces. They were generous with the proteins and I liked that there were vegetables in my dish as well. Lots of Bok Choy, and some fried onions. Most of the Bok Choy pieces were stem though, I didn't get many leaves :( The broth was fragrant and flavourful. Not too salty and not too oily. It had an ever so subtle spiciness to it. Overall pretty mild though, so don't be afraid to order it if you can't handle spice. The rice noodles were nicely cooked. Not too hard, but not too mushy. I love tapioca noodles and if this dish was made with tapioca noodles that would have been the ultimate delicious. Unfortunately, there were no dishes with tapioca noodles on the menu.

My parents really enjoyed their pho as well. They liked the broth and they too felt that the meat to noodles ratio was good. Most places skimp on the meat and give you way too much noodles, but not here, you will have enough meat to see you through to the end of your noodles, lol :)

Service was courteous and efficient. You get a pot of complimentary tea. Decor is pretty simple. It's where Pho Phu Chau used to be. The colours have changed a bit but the layout is similar.

Definitely recommended for pho and noodle soups :)

A new addition to Ottawa's Vietnamese restaurant scene on Somerset, west of Preston, just below Chinatown next to Hung Sum. This place offers, as its name suggests, a menu that specializes in lobster-favoured dishes. We tried two items on our visit and I am happy to say it delivers the goods on both fronts. The signature, lobster pho was a delicious bowl of noodle in a garlic & scallion infused seafood broth, 100% slurp-worthy. We also tried the combination beef pho and it, too, achieved high marks for its tasty broth and decent cuts of meat, even if I am not a fan of the strips of chicken and quail egg yolk that were also thrown in. The kitchen here obviously takes pride in the quality of its soup stock, which I wish all pho restaurants would follow. Yes, there are also the standard bun, spring rolls, & bbq meat/rice combos, but go bold, treat yourself, and give the lobster dumplings and noodles a try.

I ordered the lobster pad thai and I was very disappointed. The lobster was rubbery and flavourless, the worst lobster I've ever had. The cook obviously didn't know how to cook with lobster and the quality of the lobster was quite poor. For a restaurant with lobster in its name, that is unacceptable. The pad thai also wasn't good, very bland, no flavour.
